Before Jesse Larson became a contestant and finalist on The Voice, he was popular among the Prince community. His band #MPLS performed at Paisley Park as well as local venues like Icehouse, Bunkers, and First Avenue. Prince was impressed by his guitar playing and included him in Judith Hill's band to record her album Back in Time and perform several times at Paisley Park as well as opening for Prince and 3rdeyegirl on tour.
